Traverse City Roofing Is Offering Roof Repair To Those Affected By Storms In Northern Michigan

A Northern Michigan roofing company is urging homeowners and commercial business owners in the region whose properties were damaged in the storms that hit last year, to make sure their property's roof is repaired and ready to withstand similar conditions if they happen to make their way across the state again.

In December 2021, Northern Michigan was barraged with strong winds that caused extensive damage to properties across the region. Dozens of reports from local media outlets chronicled the rampant vandalization that mother nature inflicted on all kinds of public and private buildings. Fox 2 Detroit reported on December 16, 2021, that the power was knocked out for over 150,000 people with power poles being uprooted and large sections of the population having to make do with other ways to heat their homes. The Weather Service in Chicago also reported that the winds on Lake Michigan reached speeds of up to 74 miles per hour with waves reaching as high as 15 feet in some places.

Debris and dead trees were flung onto roads, highways, and rooftops, leading to long transport blockages and schools in the region being canceled. The power outages also diminished the ability of the local authorities to dispense relief efforts to those affected. The wind, which breached speeds of 60 miles per hour, also ripped the roof off at Edgewood Elementary School in Muskegon County. The damage was not just limited to Northern Michigan. Just a few days earlier, on December 11, 2021, Michigan Live reported that the winds rolled back the roof of the competition gym at Thornapple Kellogg High School in Middleville, a village in West Michigan.

A spokesperson for Traverse City Roofing reacted to the destruction across The Great Lakes State by saying, “There is no saying when the full force of nature’s wrath will show up at your doorstep. December’s events are a great reminder of the fragility of our modern infrastructure. We can feel confident about the walls that surround us and the roofs over our heads but, in reality, we are almost defenseless against what the world sometimes has in store for us. If your property was damaged in the last couple of months, this is a great opportunity to get it repaired so that you don’t have to worry about your home or commercial property’s condition deteriorating any further. You can get a thorough audit of your roof’s health completed so that you are protected the next time that harsh weather hits the region again. We can help you harden your home against strong winds and thunderstorms in Traverse City. Give us a call today and our skilled and experienced roofing technicians will arrive on-site to make sure that your home or property is restored and is as strong as it can be.”
