The Matus Law Group Announces a New Online Webinar Entitled “The Future They Deserve”

Toms River, New Jersey -- Today, Christine Matus, special needs trust attorney at The Matus Law Group, announced a new upcoming online webinar in cooperation with The Fighting H.A.R.D. Foundation called “The Future They Deserve.” The webinar is scheduled for April 29 at 7:00 PM (EST) and will focus on how parents can plan for their children with disabilities in anticipation of when they become independent adults.

“For the past few months, we have been reaching out to organizations and groups that serve our special needs community,” said Ms. Matus. “We have listened to their journeys and their needs in order to share them with as many people as possible. This time, we are collaborating with The Fighting H.A.R.D. Foundation to present this important webinar to discuss estate planning options for children with special needs and to prepare the family for when they become adults and become independent.”

Special needs trust attorney

Christine Matus, Esq. is a special needs trust attorney at The Matus Law Firm and has spent her career supporting the special needs community. For over 20 years, the firm has offered valuable advice on how to navigate the system and how to use important estate planning tools to better serve special needs loved ones. Ms. Matus and her firm are dedicated to community involvement and the needs of these families.

The Fighting H.A.R.D. Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization founded by the Crocker family in 2015. Both teenage girls, Jonna and her sister Alexandra are challenged with rare and chronic diseases of their own and wanted to help support families with kids just like them. Their mission has been to provide emotional support, social events, and financial assistance to other families and kids through community involvement and raising awareness of what it is like Having A Rare Disease (H.A.R.D.).

For parents of special needs kids, planning for their future is one of the most important yet daunting tasks they will have as parents. Through this webinar, The Matus Law Group and The Fighting H.A.R.D. Foundation will offer some essential planning groundwork to make it as easy as possible to do this.

“Turning 18 makes your teen legally independent. This means that all their medical, legal, and financial decisions are theirs to make, no matter if they are objectively able to make them or not,” explained Ms. Matus. “This is when estate planning tools like guardianships and conservatorships may come into play. We will also discuss how a special needs trust can help ensure that government benefits are maintained, such as SSI and Medicaid.”

The live broadcast of “The Future They Deserve” webinar will take place on April 29 at 7 PM (EST), but a copy will be sent out the following day for those who were unable to attend the live presentation. To register for the webinar, contact Matus Law Group via their website or email
