The spokesperson for the organization, Karyl Haden talks about the upcoming special get-together by saying, “We are really glad to have made it this far with the launch of the center, and it’s services. Though it has not been without its struggles, we are proud of all that we have managed to achieve over the last year. The overwhelmingly positive feedback that we have received from the many lives that we have touched through our programs drives us to continue forging ahead on our mission every day. We will talk more about the journey thus far during our luncheon and we hope you can join us to find out more. The impact presentation will be a short summary of the history of the center, the current impact, and the vision for where the center would like to go in 2022 and beyond. Invitees are encouraged to bring guests. For those that are hearing about the center for the first time, this a great opportunity to find out more about how we can help you or your family address the challenges brought on by living with chronic cognitive conditions.”

Karyl Haden is a licensed teacher in the State of Colorado with nearly 25 years of experience and is also an Internationally Board-Certified Cognitive Specialist. The services that she provides at Ascent Cognitive Education Center aim to offer a drug-free option to rewire the brains of those suffering from cognitive conditions such as learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, addiction (though it is not a drug treatment center), cancer-related brain fog, dyslexia, PTSD, Alzheimer's, traumatic brain injury, and more.

Karyl says that she derives a lot of the inspiration that she brings to her work from her strong family ties. On the center’s website, Karyl describes herself as the daughter of a United States Marine Sharpshooter father, and of a mother who valiantly fought Multiple Sclerosis for 40 years. Karyl is also the aunt of quadruplets, who have worked tirelessly to conquer varying degrees of cerebral palsy. Karyl uses her experience of treating and caring for those in her family to provide personalized care to those that come to Ascent Cognitive Education Center to participate in the many programs that it offers.

The center has a three-step process to help those who are dealing with various cognitive conditions. Karyl begins by assessing the client’s current levels of brain functioning in 28 areas, finding out about the client’s character strengths, and figuring out which part of their identity they value the most. Next, she helps the client develop their cognitive functions and broaden their perspective by optimizing brain function, teaching the techniques to increase mental well-being, and helping them build resilience for a better life. In the third step, to ensure that the effect of the treatment is long-term, Karyl will help the client plan for their sustained strength and growth. The center will help strengthen the client’s identity by helping them discover more about their culture, finding and creating artifacts, and building new family traditions or rediscovering old ones.

The center’s website also offers a free 28-question brain function self-assessment test to those that sign up using their name and email address.

For those who would like to support Ascent Cognitive Education Center, but are unable to attend the event, Beau Jo’s is running a fundraiser for the center next week. For anyone who eats at Beau Jo’s Arvada or Idaho Springs locations between March 7-10, 2022, and brings a paper or electronic copy of the flier, 20% of their pre-tax total of the bill will be given back to Ascent Cognitive Education Center to provide services for clients in economic need.
